At Home Hospice Association, we believe that no one should die alone, unseen, or without dignity — no matter where they lay their head.
Our H.O.P.E. Mobile Hospice Units will exist to bring compassionate, end-of-life care directly to people who are living and dying on the streets. Marginalized communities often lack access to quality end-of-life care, leaving many to face death in isolation. The Mobile Hospice Service seeks to change that by delivering compassionate, life-affirming support—directly to individuals in need, wherever they are. We plan to provide support rooted in the belief that hope still matters at the end of life. We will meet people where they are — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually — affirming that every life has value, and every death deserves care.
Our mission is to deliver holistic, non-medical hospice care to individuals facing life-limiting illness, loss, or isolation. Through the H.O.P.E mobile outreach, trusted relationships, and deeply human support, we will ensure that those most often forgotten are instead remembered, respected, and accompanied with love by:
• Providing compassionate companionship and end-of-life emotional support.
• Offering bereavement services to families, friends, and communities.
• Educating individuals and communities about available resources and services.
Our H.O.P.E. Mobile Hospice plans to bring dignity where there has been none. Compassion where there has been fear. And hope where the world has already turned away.
By the end of Year 1, our goal is that our mobile hospice service will reach at least 100 individuals in the Ottawa region providing a minimum of 300 hours of companionship and grief support, and facilitating connections to community resources.
